My experiences with Atos, WCA, ESA & ESA50.

Introduction.

Friends, relatives & colleagues will be aware of the difficulties I’ve faced since September 2009. Basically, a routine hip replacement turned into 10 operations due to repetitive wound and joint infections. My last operation was just over a year ago and things are going well. I’m left with a certain amount of physical disability but, all things considered, I’m in a far better state than other people I know or have read about.

E-Mail phishing alert: Subject – “UNIFORM TRAFFIC TICKET (ID:89016145)”

Notes:

  1. This phishing scam is a new one for me. It’s allegedly a notification of a fixed-penalty speeding offence from the New York State Police.
  2. The fact that the e-mail address of the sender appears to be genuine, suggests that they have been the victim of e-mail spoofing.
  3. If, like me, you’ve never even been to New York, then the alarm sirens will start wailing straight away!
  4. There is usually an attachment to the message. In this case, it’s supposedly a copy of the ticket that you can print. As usual, please: Do not attempt to open this attachment!
  5. This e-mail phishing attempt has been submitted to Phish Trackers – a site where you can post details of any phishing scams you may come across.

E-Mail phishing alert: NACHA – ACH transaction cancelled

Notes:

  1. This is one of various types of phishing scams supposed to originate from NACHA. In this case, it advises of a payment cancellation.
  2. There is usually an attachment to the message. Do not attempt to open this attachment!
  3. NACHA (The Electronic Payments Association) is a real and genuine organisation. They are responding positively and actively against this use of their name for fraudulent purposes.
  4. The details of this fraudulent e-mail have been submitted to the ‘Report Spam Email’ site.

  4. Details have been submitted to the ‘Report Spam Email’ site.
